Investigation and Conservation of Wild Berries and Other Germplasm Resources in Xizang

Abstract：With the highest average altitude in the world,Xizang boasts extremely diverse geographical environ-ment and climate types,which harbor rich wild berries and other germplasm resources.In order to understand their species and distribution in Xizang,the project team conducted a preliminary investigation across 23 counties in Lha-sa,Changdu,Linzhi,Shannan,and Rikaze in 2023 and 2024.A total of 83 germplasm resources from 35 genera in 19 families were identified,and 32 resources from 10 genera in 7 families were collected and preserved,subsequent-ly planted in Lhasa National Agricultural Science and Technology Park.This study provides a scientific basis for the further development and utilization of wild berries and other resources in Xizang.
