Abstract:Objective To observe the antibacterial effects in vitro of six kinds of Tibetan incense. Methods Both simulated field bacteriostatic effect experiments and field bacteriostatic effect experiments are taken out to study the antibacterial effects of six kinds of Tibetan incense against Pseudomonas aeruginosa[strain number:CMCC(B)10104],Escherichia coli[strain number:CMCC(B)44102],Staphylococcus aureus[strain number:CMCC(B)26003],Candida albicans[strain number:CMCC(F)98001]and Aspergillus niger[strain number:CMCC(F)98003].Results After combustion, all six kinds of Tibetan incense showed obvious antibacterial effects in vitro, and also inhibited the growth of bacteria and fungi in the environment. Conclusion Burning Tibetan incense can effectively inhibit and kill pathogenic microorganisms in the air, providing a scientific basis for its use to purify the air.In our daily life, the use of Tibetan incense can be considered to improve indoor air quality and reduce the transmission of pathogenic microor-ganisms.
