Study on the Effects of Different Planting Densities on Maize Yield Traits

Abstract：In order to further explore the effect of planting density on maize yield traits,five planting densi-ties of 45,000 plants/hm2(T1),60,000 plants/hm2(T2),75,000 plants/hm2(T3),90,000 plants/hm2(T4),and 105,000 plants/hm2(T5)were set up in this study.Ear traits such as stem moisture content,spike length,spike rows,and 100-grain weight were investigated.The results showed that:under the condition of increasing planting density,the ear length,the number of rows per ear,the number of grains in rows and the weight of 100 grains of maize showed a de-creasing trend,and the moisture content of stalks increased first and then decreased.MC278'had the best perfor-mance in stem moisture content and ear traits at the planting density of 45,000 plants/hm2.
