The level of unmet needs of cancer patients and its influencing factors:a Meta-analysis

Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate level of unmet needs and its influencing factors in cancer patients.Methods:Studies on the influencing factors of unmet needs in cancer patients were retrieved from CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP,CBM,Web of Science,CINAHL,Cochrane Library,PubMed,and EMbase.The search period was from the establishment of the databases to December 20,2024.Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4 and Stata 18.0 software.Results:A total of 18 articles were included,involving 4 439 patients and 38 influencing factors.Meta-analysis results showed that the total score of unmet needs of cancer patients was 63.51(95%CI 54.83-72.18).The influencing factors of unmet needs of cancer patients included gender,age,educational level,monthly per capita income of the family,cancer stage,disease duration,family environment,and anxiety.Conclusion:Existing evidence indicates that the level of unmet needs of cancer patients is relatively high,and there are many influencing factors.Nursing staff should dynamically assess the level of unmet needs of cancer patients,accurately identify high-risk groups and influencing factors,and combine the multidisciplinary collaboration model to provide personalized and precise intervention measures,to reduce the level of unmet needs,and to improve the quality of life.
