Summary of evidence on perioperative blood glucose management in spinal surgery

Abstract:Objective:To systematically retrieve and integrate evidence-based data on perioperative blood glucose management in spinal surgery at home and abroad,and provide targeted blood glucose management practice guidance for clinical medical staff.Methods:According to the"6S"evidence model,comprehensive searches were conducted on the decision-making system,domestic and foreign guideline websites,professional society websites,and Chinese and English databases.The search period was from the establishment of the databases to May 28,2025.Subsequently,the quality evaluation,evidence extraction,and summary of the included literature were carried out.Results:A total of 15 articles were included,including 1 clinical decision-making article,6 guideline articles,5 expert consensus articles,and 3 randomized controlled trials.A total of 19 pieces of evidence were summarized from 5 aspects,including preoperative period,intraoperative period,postoperative period,special populations,and post-discharge blood glucose management.Conclusion:The evidence on perioperative blood glucose management in spinal surgery formed in this study can provide evidence-based support for clinical standardization of blood glucose management during spinal surgery,reduction of complications caused by blood glucose fluctuations,promotion of patients'rapid recovery,and formulation of precise management plans.
