Construction of an oral diet management plan for esophageal cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy based on evidence-based concepts

Abstract：Objective:To construct an oral diet management plan for patients with esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy,providing a reference for dietary management during anti-tumor treatment for esophageal cancer patients.Methods:Based on the evidence-based concept,the initial draft of the diet management plan was formed through literature retrieval and semi-structured interviews.A total of 20 clinical oncology nurses,specialized nurses and nursing management experts from tertiary grade A hospitals were selected for 2 rounds of Delphi expert inquiries.The oral dietary management plan for patients with esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy was finally determined.Results:The effective recovery rates of the questionnaires in the 2 rounds of expert inquiries were both 100%,the expert authority coefficients were both 0.89,and the Kendall's W were 0.081 and 0.083 respectively,both with P<0.05.The final oral diet management plan for patients with esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy includes 8 first-level items,13 second-level items and 40 third-level items.Conclusion:The dietary management plan for esophageal cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy constructed in this study has certain scientificity and reliability,and could provide a reference for the oral diet of esophageal cancer patients during anti-tumor treatment.
