Influencing factors for postoperative intra-abdominal infection in patients with colorectal cancer:a Meta-analysis

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the influencing factors of postoperative intra-abdominal infection in patients with colorectal cancer.Methods:PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,WanFang Data,CBM,VIP and CNKI were searched for literature on the influencing factors of intra-abdominal infection after colorectal cancer surgery.The retrieval time was from the inception to March 2024.Stata 15.0 software was used to conduct Meta-analysis of the included studies,and Newcastle Ottawa Scale(NOS)was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies.Results:A total of 21 articles were included,involving 11 risk factors.Meta-analysis results showed that abdominal cavity drainage tube placement time≥10 d(OR=3.09,95%CI 2.51-3.81),combined diabetes(OR=2.00,95%CI 1.77-2.27),postoperative anastomotic fistula(OR=4.30,95%CI 3.19-5.79),operation time≥120 min(OR=2.92,95%CI 2.42-3.52),incision length≥15 cm(OR=3.43,95%CI 2.24-5.25),length of hospital stay≥30 d(OR=3.76,95%CI 1.91-7.39),preoperative serum albumin level≤35 g/L(OR=2.58,95%CI 1.66-4.01),blood loss≥300 mL(OR=1.85,95%CI 1.42-2.41),preoperative intestinal obstruction(OR=2.87,95%CI 1.53-5.38),anemia(OR=2.70,95%CI 1.25-5.81),tumor stage≥Ⅲ(OR=1.87,95%CI 1.30,2.69)were influencing factors for intra-abdominal infection after colorectal cancer surgery.Conclusion:Current evidence shows that the above 11 factors are influencing factors of postoperative intra-abdominal infection in patients with colorectal cancer,which can provide a theoretical basis for implementing targeted preventive measures for clinical medical staff.
