Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the incidence and influencing factors of prolonged length of stay among patients with hip fractures. Methods:A comprehensive search was conducted in CNKI,WanFang Data,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science, and EMbase for case-control and cohort studies reporting the incidence and influencing factors of prolonged length of stay in hip fracture patients. The retrieval time was from the inception to July 2,2025.Two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed methodological quality.Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 18.0 software. Results:A total of 14 articles, involving 105 874 patients with hip fractures were included.Meta-analysis results showed that the pooled incidence of prolonged length of stay in these patients was 31%(95%CI 0.23-0.38).Factors significantly associated with prolonged length of stay included ASA classification, preoperative waiting time, hypoproteinemia, pulmonary infection, sex, cerebrovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, and anemia(P<0.001).Conclusion:Clinical healthcare providers can refer to the influencing factors identified in this study to implement targeted interventions,so as to reduce the occurrence of prolonged length of stay in patients with hip fractures.
