Qualitative studies on perioperative experience and information needs of colorectal cancer patients:a Meta-integration

Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the perioperative experience and information needs of colorectal cancer patients.Methods:Related literature on the perioperative experience and information needs of patients with colorectal cancer was retrieved from CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP,SinoMed,PubMed,EMbase,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library from the inception to March 1,2025.Results:A total of 17 articles were included.After quality assessment,data were extracted and integrated,resulting in 75 themes,which were categorized into 10 types,and 4 integrated results(core needs at the initial diagnosis stage,core needs in the preoperative stage,multidimensional needs in the postoperative stage,and core needs of discharged patients).Conclusions:Colorectal cancer patients have diverse information needs throughout the disease process.Healthcare teams need to comprehensively understand their needs and explore comprehensive patient-centered health management programs.
