Abstract:Objective: To explore the intervention effect of tonifying cupping on cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in patients with lung-spleen qi deficiency type non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: A total of 57 inpatients with lung-spleen qi deficiency type NSCLC from the Department of Oncology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between June 2023 and January 2024 were selected as study subjects. The patients were randomly divided into a control group (n=29) and an experimental group (n=28) using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care, while the experimental group received tonifying cupping treatment in addition to the control group's care for 21 days. Changes in scores on the Cancer Fatigue Scale (CFS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and blood routine indicators were compared between the two groups. Results: After the intervention, the CFS and PSQI scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The white blood cell count and serum albumin level in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Tonifying cupping therapy can effectively relieve CRF in patients with lung-spleen qi deficiency type NSCLC, improve sleep quality, and have a positive impact on some blood routine indicators.
