Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of narrative medicine combined with pelvic floor rehabilitation nursing on psychological reconstruction in patients with urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy. Methods: A total of 155 patients who underwent radical prostatectomy and developed urinary incontinence were selected from our hospital between July 2023 and July 2024. They were randomly divided into a control group (n=77) and an observation group (n=78) using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received narrative medicine combined with pelvic floor rehabilitation nursing. The psychological status, self-efficacy, and quality of life of both groups were compared before and two months after the intervention. Results: After two months of intervention, the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05), while the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) score and all dimensions of the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) were higher in the observation group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Narrative medicine combined with pelvic floor rehabilitation nursing can effectively improve the psychological state, enhance self-efficacy, and improve the quality of life of patients with urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy, playing a positive role in psychological reconstruction.
