Application of precise nursing based on wind rose diagram in reducing the risk of falls among elderly inpatients

Abstract：Objective: To explore the effect of precision nursing based on wind rose diagram in reducing the risk of falls in elderly inpatients. Methods: A total of 152 elderly inpatients admitted to Guangzhou Panyu District Chinese Medicine Hospital from July 2022 to July 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a routine group (76 cases) and a study group (76 cases). The routine group received routine nursing care, while the study group received precision nursing based on wind rose diagram. The FES-I scores, fall prevention knowledge, attitude, and practice scale scores, fall incidence rate, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: After intervention, the FES-I scores of each dimension in the study group were lower than those in the routine group, the scores of the fall prevention knowledge, attitude, and practice scale in the study group were higher than those in the routine group, the fall incidence rate was lower in the study group, and the nursing satisfaction was higher in the study group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: Applying the precision nursing plan based on wind rose diagram in elderly inpatients can reduce the incidence of falls, improve nursing satisfaction, fall prevention knowledge, attitude, and practice level, and fall efficacy, providing a scientific and systematic solution for fall prevention in elderly inpatients.
