Conceptual analysis of reablement care for the elderly

Abstract：Objective: To analyze the concept of rehabilitation care for the elderly using Rodgers' evolutionary analysis method. Methods: Systematically retrieve literature related to the concept of rehabilitation care for the elderly in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang Database, and VIP Database. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, strictly screen the retrieved literature and conduct a concept analysis. Results: A total of 35 papers were included, including 23 English papers and 12 Chinese papers. The four attributes of rehabilitation care for the elderly were clarified as: goal-oriented personalization, interdisciplinary team collaboration, maintenance and improvement of functional independence, and dynamism and flexibility. Conclusion: Defining the concept of rehabilitation care for the elderly can provide a reference for future in-depth understanding and development of related research on rehabilitation care for the elderly, and provide ideas for intervention methods and strategies for rehabilitation care for the elderly.
