Abstract:Objective: To explore the latent profile classification of dual coping in middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients, and to analyze the differences among patients with different characteristics. Methods: A total of 241 patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis in the Department of Nephrology at a tertiary hospital in Wuhan were selected as the study subjects. Questionnaires were conducted using a basic information survey form, the dual coping scale, the marital adjustment questionnaire, and the general self-efficacy scale. Latent profile analysis was used to identify the latent classes of dual coping in middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients. Logistic regression analysis was employed to investigate the influencing factors of dual coping in different classes of middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients. Results: The dual coping of middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients had three latent classes: high-level dual coping group (20.3%), medium-level dual coping group (55.6%), and low-level dual coping group (24.1%). Logistic regression analysis results showed that education level, dialysis duration, number of comorbidities, self-efficacy, and marital adjustment were significant factors affecting the latent classes of dual coping in middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The dual coping of middle-aged and young peritoneal dialysis patients is at a medium level, with significant class differences. Clinical medical staff can develop targeted and personalized intervention measures based on the different characteristics and influencing factors of patients to improve their dual coping levels and quality of life.
