Current situation and influencing factors of specialist nurses'work engagement in a tertiary A hospital in Zhengzhou city

Abstract：Objective: To understand the current status and influencing factors of work engagement among specialist nurses in a tertiary A hospital in Zhengzhou, providing reference for developing efficient management strategies. Methods: From November 2023 to January 2024, 1,713 specialist nurses who obtained the certificate of specialized nurse training before August 31, 2023, in a tertiary A hospital in Zhengzhou were selected as the study subjects. A general information questionnaire and a specialist nurse work engagement scale were used for investigation and analysis. Results: The total score of the specialist nurse work engagement scale was (132.52±6.58) points. Linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the years of training, the level of training institution, whether working in the studied specialty, professional title, position, and education level were influencing factors of work engagement (P<0.05). Conclusion: The work engagement of specialist nurses is at a moderately high level. Training bases and managers should dynamically monitor the professional work situations of specialist nurses and take timely measures to provide support, continuously improving the work engagement level of specialist nurses and promoting the sustainable development of specialized nursing.
