Abstract:Objective: To investigate the current status and influencing factors of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with ischemic stroke. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 264 elderly patients with ischemic stroke hospitalized in the neurology department of a tertiary class A hospital in Shanxi Province from January to June 2024. The patients were surveyed using a general information questionnaire, the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK), the Chinese version of the Tilburg Frailty Indicator (TFI), the Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale (SEE), and the Subjective Caregiver Burden Scale (SPBS). Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with ischemic stroke. Results: The prevalence of kinesiophobia among the 264 elderly patients with ischemic stroke was 65.9%. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level, average monthly income, number of falls, number of comorbid chronic diseases, frailty, exercise self-efficacy, and subjective caregiver burden were the main influencing factors of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with ischemic stroke (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The incidence of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with ischemic stroke is relatively high. Medical staff should identify and comprehensively assess the level of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with ischemic stroke early, so as to develop targeted intervention measures to reduce the level of kinesiophobia, improve the patients' exercise tolerance and compliance, and promote their rehabilitation.
