Application of the"reading salon+pathway list"model in clinical practice education for professional degree nursing graduate students

Abstract：Objective: To explore the application effect of the 'Reading Salon + Pathway Sheet' model in clinical practice education for professional degree nursing graduate students. Methods: A total of 98 second-year nursing graduate students who completed clinical teaching practice at a tertiary A hospital in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, from July 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group and experimental group according to different hospital campuses, with 49 people in each group. The experimental group was implemented with the 'Reading Salon + Pathway Sheet' teaching model, while the control group adopted the conventional teaching model. After the intervention, the theoretical and operational scores, total score of self-directed learning ability, total score of learning attitude questionnaire, and total score of teaching model satisfaction questionnaire were compared between the two groups. Results: After the intervention, the theoretical scores, operational scores, total score of self-directed learning ability, total score of learning attitude questionnaire, and total score of teaching model satisfaction questionnaire of the experimental group were all higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Applying the 'Reading Salon + Pathway Sheet' teaching model can improve students' academic performance, cultivate self-directed learning ability, enhance learning attitudes, and improve satisfaction.
