Conceptual analysis of postpartum fatigue

Abstract：Objective: To define the concept of postpartum fatigue from the perspective of nursing. Methods: Literature related to postpartum fatigue published from the establishment of databases to June 30, 2023, was retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, PubMed, Web of Science, etc. The Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis was used for inductive summary. Results: Four antecedent variables of postpartum fatigue were summarized (delivery process, physiological indicators, psychological factors, environmental factors) and two attribute characteristics (time changes of fatigue, severity of fatigue). Conclusion: Conceptual definition of postpartum fatigue is helpful for medical staff to take targeted interventions to alleviate postpartum fatigue symptoms, reduce negative emotions in mothers, and thus promote harmonious mother-infant relationships.
