Abstract:Objective:To Chinesization the Quality of Life Scale for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders(QOLASD-C)and to test its reliability and validity,to provide an effective measurement tool for the quality of life(QOL)assessment of children with autism spectrum disorders(ASD)in China. Methods:The English version of QOLASD-C was translated,back-translated,culturally adapted, and pre-surveyed using the Brislin translation model to form the first draft of the Chinese version of QOLASD-C.The convenience sampling method was used to select parents of 143 children with ASD in Ganzhou city for investigation, and the reliability and validity of the first draft of the Chinese version of QOLASD-C were tested. Results:The Chinese version of the QOLASD-C scale included three dimensions:social interaction,self-determination,and emotions, with a total of 16 items. The Cronbach'sαcoefficient of the scale was 0.928,and the split-half reliability coefficient was 0.892.The exploratory factor analysis results showed that the KMO value was 0.917,and three common factors with characteristic roots>1 were extracted, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 65.048%.Conclusions:The Chinese version of the QOLASD-C scale has good reliability, validity, and discrimination, which could be used to investigate the QOL of children with ASD aged 0-7 years in China.
