Abstract:Objective: To investigate the current status of quality control in central sterile supply departments (CSSD) of tertiary hospitals in Gansu Province. Methods: A self-designed general information survey form was used to investigate and analyze the sterilization supply quality management and control platform established by the National Health Commission's Institute of Hospital Management according to the sterilization supply quality control index system (2022 edition). Results: A total of 14 hospitals submitted complete data, with an effective reporting rate of 93.33%. The centralized management rate of reusable medical devices in CSSD of the 14 hospitals was 99.30%, the job training rate was 56.00%, the continuing education rate was 25.16%, the occupational exposure incidence rate was 3.25%, the completion rates of regular maintenance and testing of equipment and facilities were 92.73% and 87.27%, respectively, the packaging qualification rate was 99.76%, the qualification rate of instrument cleaning monitoring was 99.09%, the error rate of sterilization program selection was 0.18%, the qualification rate of sterilization loading was 99.98%, the wet pack occurrence rate was 0.01%, the qualification rate of sterilization effect monitoring was 99.92%, and the qualification rate of sterile item distribution was 99.99%. Conclusion: It is necessary to strengthen the supervision and inspection of regular maintenance and monitoring of CSSD equipment and facilities; enhance professional training for new and transferred nurses in CSSD, as well as personnel's occupational protection, emergency response to occupational exposure, reporting procedures, and training on cleaning and sterilization of precision instruments; increase the number of continuing education spots for CSSD nurses in tertiary hospitals and encourage them to participate in continuing education activities; strengthen guidance for reporters on the reporting of continuing education rate indicators.
