Abstract:Objective: To translate the Revised Non-Communicating Children's Pain Checklist (NCCPC-R) into Chinese and to evaluate its reliability and validity in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: According to the Brislin translation model, the NCCPC-R was translated into Chinese. A convenience sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 230 children with cerebral palsy to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the NCCPC-R. Results: The Chinese version of the NCCPC-R consists of 7 dimensions and 25 items. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.895, and the split-half reliability was 0.795. The item-level content validity index (I-CVI) ranged from 0.875 to 1.000, and the scale-level content validity index (S-CVI/Ave) was 0.970. Exploratory factor analysis extracted 7 common factors, with factor loadings ranging from 0.519 to 0.858, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 66.055%. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the NCCPC-R has good reliability and validity in children with cerebral palsy in China and can be used as an assessment tool for pain in these children.
