Abstract:Objective:To summarize the risk factors for unplanned readmission of colorectal cancer patients in the short term after surgery. Methods:A comprehensive search of the literature on risk factors for unplanned readmission after surgery for colorectal cancer was conducted in PubMed,Web of Science,EMbase,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,SinoMed,CNKI,WanFang Data and VIP.The search timeframe was from the construction of the library to August 30,2024.Results:A total of 14 articles were included.333 558 patients were involved,of which 42 874(12.89%)had readmissions. The Meta-analysis showed that comorbidities(OR=2.13,95%CI 1.88-2.43,P<0.000 01),postoperative complications(OR=6.86,95%CI 2.13-22.15,P<0.001),stoma(OR=1.44,95%CI 1.26-1.64,P<0.000 01),hospital stay>7 d(OR=1.41,95%CI 1.17-1.33,P=0.000 3)and incision infection(OR=3.22,95%CI 1.93-5.36,P<0.000 01)were risk factors for unplanned readmission in colorectal cancer patients in the short-term postoperative period. Conclusion:Existing evidence shows that unplanned postoperative readmission of colorectal cancer patients is closely related to comorbidities, postoperative complications, stoma, hospitalization time>7 d and incision infection.Clinical staff can take appropriate interventions according to the above risk factors to reduce the risk of postoperative readmission in colorectal cancer patients.
