Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of nursing intervention based on the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills (IMB) model under the perspective of a healthy society on the quality of life of patients with neurogenic bladder, in order to provide effective and scientific nursing strategies for clinical practice. Methods: A total of 100 patients with neurogenic bladder admitted to the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from April 2023 to April 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 50 cases. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received additional nursing intervention based on the IMB model for 12 weeks. The improvement of neurogenic bladder symptoms, self-care ability, and quality of life were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention using the Neurogenic Bladder Symptom Score (NBSS), the Empowerment Scale for Self-Care Ability (ESCA), and the Short Form of Quality of Life Assessment (SF-Qualiveen). Results: After the intervention, the NBSS score and SF-Qualiveen score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while the ESCA score was higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Nursing intervention based on the IMB model can effectively promote the improvement of neurogenic bladder symptoms, enhance self-care ability, and improve the quality of life of patients with neurogenic bladder.
