Abstract:Objective:To explore evidence-based refined airway management strategies in the intensive care unit(ICU),aiming to optimize nursing practices and enhance the quality of care and safety for critically ill patients. Methods:A questionnaire survey via questionnaire star was conducted from March to May 2022 to assess ICU 65 nurses'current knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding airway management, followed by targeted skill training.A total of 73 first-time treated patients admitted to a secondary Grade A hospital in Jiangsu Province from March 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the control group and received routine airway care.Another 75 first-time treated patients admitted from March 2023 to February 2024 were selected as the observation group and received evidence-based refined airway management strategies.Outcomes including lung infection scores, mechanical ventilation duration,ICU length of stay, extubation success rate, and weaning trial success rate were compared between the two groups. Results:The observation group demonstrated significantly lower lung infection scores and shorter mechanical ventilation duration compared to the control group(P<0.05).The extubation success rate in observation group was higher than that in the control group, and complication risk incidence in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).However,no statistically significant difference was observed in ICU length of stay between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Evidence-based refined airway management strategies effectively improve clinical outcomes in ICU patients receiving mechanical ventilation, reduce pulmonary infections, shorten mechanical ventilation duration, and enhance extubation success rate, and reduce the incidence of complications.
