Abstract:Objective:To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Fear Assessment in Inflammatory Rheumatic diseases(FAIR)questionnaire in patients with axial spondyloarthritis. Methods:The Brislin translation model was used to translate and back-translate the original questionnaire. After cultural adaptation and pilot test, the Chinese version of the FAIR questionnaire was formed. From November 2023 to April 2024,220 patients with axial spondyloarthritis in a tertiary grade A hospital in Jiangsu Province were selected by convenience sampling for a questionnaire survey. To verify the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, two weeks later,30 patients in those were retested. Results:There were a total of 10 items in the Chinese version of the FAIR questionnaire. The I-CVI was 0.875 to 1.000,and the S-CVI was 0.988.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that χ2/ν was 1.765 and RMSEA was 0.059.The criterion validity showed that the total score of the Chinese version of FAIR questionnaire was highly correlated with the total score of FoP-Q-SF(r=0.656).The convergent validity showed that the total score of the Chinese version of the FAIR questionnaire was weakly correlated with HADS-A(r=0.231).The Cronbach's α coefficient of this questionnaire was 0.925.And the test-retest reliability was 0.824.Conclusion:The Chinese version of the FAIR questionnaire has good reliability and validity, which can be used as an assessment tool for the level of fear of disease progression in patients with axial spondyloarthritis.
