Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the effect of neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES)in preventing deep vein thrombosis(DVT)in hospitalized bedridden patients, and to provide evidence-based evidence for the clinical prevention of the occurrence of venous thrombosis. Methods:The literature on the prevention of DVT in patients by NMES was retrieved from PubMed,the Cochrane Library,Web of Science,EMbase,CNKI,WanFang Database,VIP and CBM.The search period was from the establishment of the database to July 2024.Literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation were independently conducted by two researchers according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.RevMan 5.4 software was adopted for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 20 articles were included. The results of the Meta-analysis showed that NMES could reduce the incidence of DVT(RR=0.45,95%CI 0.35-0.58,P<0.000 01),accelerate the venous blood flow of the lower extremities(MD=4.59,95%CI 3.40-5.78,P<0.000 01),reduce the D-dimer level of patients(SMD=-2.64,95%CI-3.83--1.44,P<0.000 1),and alleviate pain(MD=-1.23,95%CI-1.43--1.04,P<0.000 01).Conclusion:Existing evidence shows that NMES can prevent DVT in patients, but the quality level of the literature is not high.High-quality clinical studies are still needed to further verify and analyze its efficacy.
