Abstract:Objective: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the research hotspots and development trends in smoking cessation among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), in order to provide references for related research on smoking cessation in COPD patients. Methods: Literature related to smoking cessation in COPD patients published between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2021, was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and CNKI. Bibliometric analysis was performed using CiteSpace 5.6.R4 software. Results: A total of 3,161 papers were included. The number of publications in the field of smoking cessation for COPD patients has been increasing year by year. The field shows characteristics such as gradually expanding research scope, increasingly refined research populations, and more specific research content. Disease burden, acute exacerbation, smoking cessation effectiveness, adherence to smoking cessation, and pulmonary rehabilitation have become research hotspots in recent years. Conclusion: Research on smoking cessation in COPD patients is in a steady development stage, with continuously deepening studies. However, there are still shortcomings in the exploration of influencing factors, intervention strategies, and implementation management. In the future, further research should be conducted based on a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics, hotspots, and development trends of this field, while strengthening cooperation and exchange to promote rapid development in the field of smoking cessation research for COPD patients.
