Abstract:Objective:To explore the chronic pain management model of nurse practitioners(NPs),the existing limitations, and future development prospects,to provide a reference for NPs to participate in the research of chronic pain management. Methods:According to the scoping review methodology framework of Arksey and O'Malley, relevant literature was retrieved from the establishment of domestic and foreign databases to June 30,2024.Relevant literature that met the inclusion criteria was screened, and the basic information of the literature was extracted. Then the information was classified, summarized, and analyzed. Results:A total of 15 articles were included, and 3 themes were obtained through analysis:the scope of practice, required qualifications, and practice model of pain NPs;NPs'prescription of chronic pain drugs;the main ways of NPs'chronic pain management. Conclusions:The diversity and effectiveness of NPs'participation in chronic pain management abroad are preliminarily confirmed. There is little content related to NPs in the field of chronic pain research in China.Relevant scholars are urgently needed to strengthen the study and promote the development of chronic pain management.
