Management of skin ulcers in patients with systemic sclerosis:a summary of the best evidence

Abstract:Objective:To systematically retrieve,evaluate,and summarize the relevant evidence for the management of skin ulcers in patients with systemic sclerosis,and provide the evidence-based basis for clinical medical staff to carry out skin ulcer management and health education.Methods:Relevant evidence on the management of skin ulcers in patients with systemic sclerosis was retrieved from databases and websites in China and abroad,including guidelines,expert consensus,clinical decision,systematic reviews,best practices,and evidence summaries.Results:A total of 12 articles were included,including 3 guidelines,3 expert consensus,1 clinical decision,and 5 systematic reviews.A total of 23 pieces of best evidence were summarized from 7 aspects:assessment,risk factors,ulcer wound management,dressing selection,periwound skin management,avoiding injury,and rehabilitation guidance.Conclusions:The summarized best evidence for managing skin ulcers in patients with systemic sclerosis in this study have certain scientific significance and practical value.It is recommended that nursing staff use the transformed evidence prudently in combination with clinical practice.
