Abstract:Objective:To improve the nursing management of children after lumbar puncture based on an evidence-based approach, with the aim of improving the knowledge of healthcare professionals as well as the postoperative comfort of children. Methods:The Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI)Clinical evidence practice application model in Australia was followed. The evidence-based continuous quality improvement model was used as the theoretical framework.Evidence-based practice was applied to children undergoing lumbar puncture according to the 4 stages of evidence acquisition, status review, evidence introduction, and effect evaluation. The level of relevant knowledge of healthcare personnel, the implementation rate of review indicators, and the situation of children 6 h after lumbar puncture were compared before and after the evidence-based practice. Results:After evidence-based practice, the level of relevant knowledge of medical and nursing staff increased, and the implementation rate of review indicators increased, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Evidence-based practice can improve the level of healthcare personnel's relevant specialties and the implementation rate of review indicators. However, the incidence of outcomes such as de-pillowed lying time and discomfort after lumbar puncture should be further explored.
