Abstract:Objective: To understand the current status of family ICU after syndrome in patients with stroke and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: From July 2023 to May 2024, a convenience sampling method was used to select 216 families of patients with stroke admitted to the ICU of a tertiary general hospital in Hengyang City as the study subjects. The subjects were surveyed using the General Information Questionnaire, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Checklist - Civilian Version (PCL-C), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire Second Edition (AAQ-Ⅱ). Results: 158 (73.15%) families of patients with stroke developed family ICU after syndrome. The scores for HADS-Anxiety (HAD-A) were 8.00 (5.00, 11.00), HADS-Depression (HAD-D) were 9.00 (6.00, 10.00), PCL-C were 31.00 (21.00, 38.00), and PSQI were 9.00 (7.00, 11.00). The scores of HAD-A, HAD-D, PCL-C, and PSQI were negatively correlated with positive coping scores (all P < 0.01) and positively correlated with negative coping scores and AAQ-Ⅱ scores (all P < 0.01). Multivariate analysis showed that the gender of the family member, place of residence, relationship with the patient, psychological flexibility, and the number of days the patient stayed in the ICU were influencing factors of family ICU after syndrome (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: The occurrence of family ICU after syndrome in patients with stroke is influenced by multiple factors. ICU medical staff should pay more attention to the families of patients, conduct early assessment and identification of symptoms of family ICU after syndrome, and carry out targeted interventions in a timely manner to prevent the occurrence of family ICU after syndrome, so that they can play the role of family support and promote the rehabilitation process of the patient.
