Abstract:Objective: To translate the Healthcare Technology Self-Efficacy Scale (HTSES) into Chinese and to test its reliability and validity in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Methods: The scale was translated, back-translated, culturally adapted, and pre-tested according to the Brislin translation model, forming the initial Chinese version of HTSES. A convenience sampling method was used to select 418 elderly patients with coronary heart disease who visited three community health service centers in Qingdao from September 2023 to April 2024 for a questionnaire survey. The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of HTSES were tested. Results: The Chinese version of HTSES consists of 12 items. Exploratory factor analysis extracted three factors: digital health technology, digital health technology services, and network services, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 81.230%. The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the structural equation model had a good fit. The average content validity index of the scale was 0.967, and the item-level content validity index ranged from 0.800 to 1.000. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the total scale was 0.930, the split-half reliability was 0.810, and the test-retest reliability was 0.891. Conclusion: The Chinese version of HTSES has good reliability and validity and is suitable for assessing the level of healthcare technology self-efficacy in elderly patients with coronary heart disease.
