Development and application of stroke rehabilitation application

Abstract：Objective: To develop a mobile application (APP) that provides self-learning resources and remote rehabilitation support for stroke patients at home. Methods: Based on the Technology Acceptance Model and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, the basic functions of the stroke rehabilitation APP were constructed according to the needs of stroke patients at home. After further revision by expert seminars, the stroke rehabilitation APP was developed. A total of 46 stroke patients who were discharged from the rehabilitation department of a tertiary A hospital in Baise City between September and November 2022 used the APP, and the usage of each function of the APP within one month was recorded. Results: A stroke rehabilitation APP was developed, which can provide functions such as health education videos, online Q&A with professionals, and remote video medical services. Among the 46 stroke patients at home, the online Q&A function was used 165 times, and 25 remote video medical services were received, with a total viewing time of health education videos reaching 6,487 minutes. Conclusion: The developed stroke rehabilitation APP can provide remote rehabilitation support and health guidance for stroke patients at home.
