Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the prevalence of sarcopenia in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods:The relevant literature on the prevalence of sarcopenia in elderly patients with hypertension was retrieved from CNKI,VIP,CBM,PubMed,Web of Science,EMbase,CINAHL,and the Cochrane Library, from the establishment of the database to October 21,2024.Two researchers independently performed literature screening, quality assessment, and data extraction according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The RevMan 5.4 software was used to perform a Meta-analysis of the included literature. Results:A total of 13 articles were included, involving 3 703 patients. The Meta-analysis results showed that the risk difference(RD)of sarcopenia in elderly hypertensive patients was 0.38(95%CI 0.29-0.46).Conclusions:The prevalence of sarcopenia in elderly hypertensive patients is higher than that in normal elderly people. We should focus on their muscle mass, choose appropriate diagnostic tools, and take targeted intervention measures as soon as possible.
