Abstract:Objective: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of existing literature on clinical proxy decision-making at home and abroad, to understand the current research status, research hotspots, and development trends. Methods: A search was conducted using the topic of proxy decision-making in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, VIP Database, and Web of Science Core Collection Database for literature related to clinical proxy decision-making. The CiteSpace 6.2.R6 software was used for multidimensional visual analysis of the included literature. Results: A total of 212 Chinese articles and 664 English articles were included. The annual publication volume in this field showed a year-by-year increasing trend. The main research hotspots and frontiers were concentrated in areas such as advance directives, end-of-life care, informed consent, withdrawal of treatment, and treatment preferences. Conclusion: The research hotspots of clinical proxy decision-making are similar at home and abroad, but there is a significant difference in the number of studies, and the overall development speed is relatively slow. China can further enrich research methods and study design types, and conduct in-depth research by drawing on foreign outstanding research results, providing a basis for clinical proxy decision-making.
