Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of narrative nursing on negative emotions and compliance with rehabilitation training in patients with dysphagia after stroke. Methods: A total of 63 patients with dysphagia after stroke admitted to the neurosurgery department of a hospital in Anhui Province from January 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023, were selected as the study subjects. Among them, 31 patients from January to September 2022 were assigned to the control group, and 32 patients from October 2022 to July 2023 were assigned to the observation group. The control group received conventional psychological care during rehabilitation training, while the observation group received narrative nursing. The negative emotions and compliance with rehabilitation training were compared between the two groups before intervention and 4 weeks after intervention. Results: A total of 60 patients participated in the study, with 30 in each group. After 4 weeks of intervention, the scores of the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and Self-Rating Depression Scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group; the total score of compliance with rehabilitation training was higher in the observation group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Narrative nursing can improve negative emotions during rehabilitation training in patients with dysphagia after stroke and enhance their compliance with swallowing rehabilitation training.
