Abstract:Objective: To explore the relationship among dyadic coping, intimate relationships, and fear of cancer recurrence in patients with malignant hematological diseases undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Methods: A total of 242 patients who had undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for malignant hematological diseases were surveyed using a general information questionnaire, the Simplified Fear of Progression Scale, the Chinese version of the Dyadic Coping Questionnaire, and the Locke-Wallace Marital Adjustment Scale at a tertiary hospital in Tianjin. Results: The total score for fear of cancer recurrence in these patients was (31.57±8.66). It showed a negative correlation with the total score of dyadic coping, positive dyadic coping, and intimate relationships, and a positive correlation with negative dyadic coping. Structural equation modeling showed that the mediating effect of intimate relationships between positive dyadic coping and fear of cancer recurrence was -0.212, accounting for 33.02% of the total effect. The mediating effect between negative dyadic coping and fear of cancer recurrence was 0.235, accounting for 40.87% of the total effect. Conclusion: Intimate relationships play a partial mediating role between positive and negative dyadic coping and fear of cancer recurrence in patients with malignant hematological diseases undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Healthcare professionals should take targeted interventions to improve the intimacy between couples and enhance dyadic coping levels, thereby reducing the patients' fear of recurrence.
