Abstract:Objective: To conduct a scoping review of the evidence related to factors influencing bowel preparation before colonoscopy, providing reference for clinical screening of high-risk populations and developing prevention and intervention measures. Methods: Systematic search was conducted in the Guidelines International Network and relevant Chinese and English databases, with the search period from the database establishment to March 31, 2024. Data were extracted and summarized for analysis. The risk of bias in the included systematic reviews was assessed using the Australian Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) tool. Results: A total of 10 articles were included, among which there were more studies from China. Most research subjects were elderly individuals. The four most frequently mentioned influencing factors were constipation, diabetes, use of tricyclic antidepressants, and use of opioid medications. Conclusion: The included literature did not focus on the factors influencing bowel preparation. Future studies could provide references for clinical practice by constructing an assessment form and determining cutoff values.
