Abstract:Objective: To analyze the influencing factors of family resilience in adolescents with nephrotic syndrome, and to explore the path relationships between family resilience, caregiver burden, quality of life, and coping styles. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 212 adolescents with nephrotic syndrome and their caregivers from two tertiary general hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region between July 2021 and October 2022. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Family Resilience Assessment Scale, the Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale, the Chinese version of the Child Quality of Life Measurement Scale, and the Simplified Coping Questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0 software. Results: The family resilience score of 212 adolescents with nephrotic syndrome was 125 (117, 132). Multivariate analysis showed that residence, family annual income, emotional function, school performance, personal burden, and coping style were independent influencing factors of family resilience in adolescents with nephrotic syndrome (P < 0.05). Path analysis results showed that caregiver burden could directly affect family resilience, and could also indirectly influence it through quality of life and coping style. It could also influence family resilience through a chain reaction of quality of life and coping style. The total indirect effect was 0.603, accounting for 85% of the total effect. Conclusion: The level of family resilience among adolescents with nephrotic syndrome is relatively low. In clinical practice, controllable influencing factors should be adjusted. Caregiver burden, patient quality of life, and coping style play an important role in improving family resilience.
