Abstract:Objective: To explore the adherence to functional exercise in patients with limb dysfunction after stroke through latent profile analysis and to investigate its influencing factors. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select patients with stroke and limb disorders who were treated in our hospital from February 2023 to January 2024. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), a questionnaire on knowledge and attitude toward stroke, a self-efficacy scale for stroke patients, and an adherence scale for functional exercise in stroke patients. A latent class model was constructed using Mplus 7.0. Results: The adherence to functional exercise in patients with limb dysfunction after stroke included three latent profiles: poor adherence group, moderate adherence group, and good adherence group. Factors such as educational level, disease duration, use of home assistance devices, NIHSS score, knowledge of stroke, attitude, and self-efficacy were identified as influencing factors of the latent profiles of adherence to functional exercise. Conclusion: Patients with limb dysfunction after stroke can be classified into three latent categories based on their adherence to functional exercise: poor, moderate, and good. The influencing factors of the latent profiles of adherence to functional exercise include educational level, disease duration, use of home assistance devices, NIHSS score, knowledge of stroke, attitude, and self-efficacy. Healthcare professionals should develop individualized intervention measures based on these influencing factors.
