Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of WeChat-based information-knowledge-belief-action (IKAP) collaborative nursing intervention on health literacy and social support in elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 40 CHF patients from the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College between July and August 2022 as the control group, and 40 CHF patients between September and October 2022 as the experimental group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the experimental group received WeChat-based IKAP collaborative nursing intervention in addition to routine care. After the intervention, the health literacy and social support levels of both groups were compared. Results: After the intervention, the total score of health literacy, information acquisition ability, communication and interaction ability, total social support score, subjective support, and the utilization of support in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: WeChat-based IKAP collaborative nursing intervention has a good effect in improving the health literacy and social support of CHF patients, and can provide reference for clinical nursing services.
