Abstract:Objective: To understand the current status of aging attitudes in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis and explore its influencing factors, providing a basis for reducing negative experiences and improving mental health levels in these patients. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 150 elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis hospitalized at Shanghai Putuo District Linqun Hospital from April 2020 to April 2023 as the study subjects. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the Aging Attitude Questionnaire, the Arthritis Quality of Life Measure 2, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Single-factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted to investigate the influencing factors of aging attitudes in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis. Results: The total score of aging attitudes in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis was (71.26 ± 18.17) points. There was a positive correlation between aging attitudes and quality of life (r = 0.375, P < 0.01) and self-efficacy (r = 0.714, P < 0.01). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level, economic income, quality of life, and self-efficacy were important influencing factors of aging attitudes in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The aging attitude of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis is at a moderate to high level. Targeted interventions should be provided early based on the key influencing factors to promote a more positive and proactive attitude toward aging, thereby improving their mental health.
