Abstract:Objective: To conduct a visual analysis of the current status and research hotspots in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) nursing using CiteSpace. Methods: This study took China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, and Web of Science Core Collection as data sources, and used CiteSpace 6.2.R2 software to perform a systematic visual analysis of literature related to ASD nursing from January 1, 2000, to January 31, 2024. The analysis covered key dimensions such as publication volume, authors, institutions, keywords, clusters, and bursts. Results: A total of 1,475 papers were included, with 383 Chinese papers and 1,092 English papers. The visual analysis results showed that the number of publications in the field of ASD nursing has gradually increased. The core research author group is relatively small, and the collaboration network among authors has not yet formed effective connections. The interaction between research institutions is also insufficient. The main types of hot literature are survey studies, and the core research areas are the study of caregivers of children with ASD and related clinical nursing measures. Conclusion: Research in the field of ASD nursing needs to be strengthened. Future research can focus on reducing the burden on ASD caregivers and building a comprehensive care intervention system for children with ASD. It is also recommended to learn and apply best practices in ASD patient care to accelerate the progress of ASD nursing research.
