Risk factors for sleep disorders during radiotherapy in cancer patients:a Meta-analysis

Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the risk factors of sleep disorders in cancer patients during radiotherapy,and to provide reference for targeted intervention.Methods:PubMed,Web of Science,CINAHL,CBM,CNKI,WanFang Database and VIP were searched.The search period was up to October 31,2023.RevMan 5.4 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 12 articles were included,involving 1 286 patients,including 7 risk factors and 2 protective factors.The risk factors of sleep disorder in tumor patients were disease cognition(OR=1.90,95%CI 1.09-3.34,P=0.02),pain(OR=3.09,95%CI 2.54-3.75,P<0.000 01),comfort change(OR=2.91,95%CI 2.15-3.95,P<0.000 01),adverse reaction of radiotherapy(OR=1.80,95%CI 1.49-2.18,P<0.000 01),Pain of radiotherapy(OR=8.10,95%CI 4.73-13.86,P<0.001),bad psychological state(OR=3.86,95%CI 3.22-4.62,P<0.000 01)and economic pressure(OR=2.02,95%CI 1.09-3.72,P=0.03).Medical atmosphere(OR=0.40,95%CI 0.32-0.50,P<0.000 01),marriage and family relationship(OR=0.05,95%CI 0.03-0.10,P<0.000 01)are protective factors.Conclusion:There are many risk factors of sleep disorders in tumor patients during radiotherapy.Targeted and individual intervention should be carried out to prevent the occurrence or aggravation of sleep disorders in order to improve the quality of life of patients.
