Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of external traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing therapy in relieving the symptoms of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN)through network Meta-analysis.Methods:The randomized controlled trials(RCTs)on the effectiveness of external TCM nursing therapy in relieving CIPN symptoms were retrieved from Chinese and English databases, including PubMed,the Cochrane Library,EMbase,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang Database, and VIP,from the database was established to August 15,2023.Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed quality.Network Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 17.0 software. Results:A total of 32 RCTs were included in this study with 2 492 CIPN patients, involving a variety of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapies such as acupoint application, traditional Chinese medicine fumigation+methylcobalamin combined treatment, and acupoint acupuncture+methylcobalamin combined treatment. The network Meta-analysis results shows that the overall effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation+methylcobalamin treatment and acupoint acupuncture+methylcobalamin treatment was better;the quality of life index of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation+methylcobalamin treatment and acupoint acupuncture+methylcobalamin treatment was better. Conclusions:Existing evidence showes that the effectiveness of six types of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatments is higher than conventional nursing and two types of simple western medicine treatments. The two types of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine are traditional Chinese medicine fumigation+methylcobalamin treatment and acupoint acupuncture+methylcobalamin treatment, which showes the more excellent therapeutic effect.
