Summary of the best evidence for the care of chemotherapy-associated oral mucositis in children with cancer

Abstract:Objective:To search,evaluate and summarize the best evidence on the nursing of chemotherapy-related oral mucositis in children with tumor,so as to provide reference for the clinical work of medical staff.Methods:According to the"6S"evidence model,the clinical decisions,guidelines,expert consensus,systematic review,evidence summary and original literature on the nursing of chemotherapy-related oral catarrh in children with tumor were retrieved from related guide websites,professional association websites and domestic and foreign databases.The search deadline was from June 2013 to June 2023.Literature quality evaluation,evidence extraction and integration were conducted independently by two researchers.Results:A total of 11 articles were included,including 6 guidelines,1 expert consensus,2 systematic reviews and 2 randomized controlled trials.A total of 23 pieces of best evidence were summarized in 6 aspects,including assessment,health education,basic oral care,cryotherapy,photobioregulatory therapy,drugs and other methods.Conclusion:This study summarizes the best evidence for the nursing of chemotherapy-related oral mucositis in children with tumor,and suggestes that the medical staff should selectively apply the evidence in combination with the clinical context and actual situation.
