Summary of evidence of guidelines for the assessment and management of early dysphagia in stroke patients

Abstract:Objective:To search,evaluate,and analyze the best evidence of early assessment and management guidelines for dysphagia in stroke patients,and provide reference for standardizing the management of dysphagia patients after acute stroke in China.Method:Guidelines for early assessment and management of swallowing disorders in stroke patients were retrieved from major guideline websites,databases,and professional association websites.Clinical Guidelines Research and Evaluation System Ⅱ was adopted by three researchers to evaluate the quality of literature and extract data.Result:A total of 14 guidelines were included,and after induction and analysis,a total of 31 best pieces of evidence were formed in 5 aspects:organization and training,screening and evaluation,management of swallowing disorders,adjuvant therapy,and health education.Conclusion:The best evidence for early assessment and management of swallowing disorders in stroke patients summarized in this study provides reference for medical institutions in China to develop corresponding assessment processes and management plans.Nursing staff should carefully select and apply evidence based on clinical situations and patient preferences,in order to improve the assessment and intervention level of early swallowing disorders in stroke patients,improve their nutritional status and prognosis.
