Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of humor therapy on the emotional control of cancer patients and provide a reference for clinical auxiliary treatment and nursing. Methods:Literature related to the effect of humor therapy on emotional control in cancer patients was retrieved from VIP,WanFang Database,CNKI,the Cochrane Library,PubMed,Web of Science, and EBSCO,from the establishment of databased to March 31,2023.Randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials were selected and the references were tracked. The researchers independently included the literature by the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After evaluating the risk of bias in the included studies, they extracted valid data and used RevMan 5.3 software to perform a Meta-analysis.Data that could not be combined were subjected to descriptive analysis. Results:A total of 8 randomized controlled trials involving 369 patients were included.Compared with conventional treatment/care or blank control, the depression score(SMD=-0.81,95%CI-1.06--0.56,Z=6.42,P<0.000 01),stress score(SMD=-0.86,95%CI-1.38--0.33,Z=3.21,P=0.001),and anxiety score(SMD=-0.78,95%CI-1.40--0.16,Z=2.46,P=0.01)were statistically significant different.Quality of life score(SMD=0.34,95%CI-0.47-1.15,Z=0.81,P=0.42)and different treatment/nursing methods had no statistically significant difference. Conclusions:Existing evidence shows that humor therapy could effectively relieve depression and anxiety in cancer patients, reduce psychological stress, and play an important role in the treatment/care of cancer patients'mental illness.
