Systematic evaluation on influence of different times of moxibustion on curative effect of patients with primary dys-menorrhea
Abstract:Objective:To systematically evaluate the total efficiency of moxibustion and the differences of influ-ence of different moxibustion times on curative effect of patients with primary dysmenorrhea. Methods:It searched CENTRAL、MEDLINE、EMBASE、AMED、CINAHL、Web of Science、CBM、CNKI、VIP and WanFang Data(~2015.12 )to collect the relevant clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTS).Two researchers inde-pendently screened these literatures and extracted the data according to the inclusion and exclusion criterias, and assessed quality of studies with the guidance of the Cochrane Handbook.Meta analysis was performed by Rev-Man5.2 software, stata 12.0 software was used for quantitative analysis of published bias of literatures.Results:10 RCTs wereinvolved,a total of 586 participants of PD.Meta analysis showed that, compared with the control group of non moxibustionas, moxibustion could improve the total efficiency of the treatment of PD patients[RR=1.13,95%CI(1.03~1.23),P=0.007],and reduce the level of PGF2α[MD=-4.65,95%CI(-8.42~-0.88),P=0.02]. There was no statistically significant difference in improving the patients’pain[MD=0.14,95%CI(-0.11~0.39)]. However, there was no statistically significant difference among the group of 5 times,6 times or 7 times each menstrual cycle with the therapy of moxibustion (P > 0.05 ).Conclusions:Based on the review, moxibustion showed some advantages in the treatment of PD with improved the total effective rate and reduced the level of PGF2α,but there was no statistically significant difference among the groups of different frequency of treat-ment.Considering to save medical resources and energy of doctors and patients, treatment for 5 times in each menstrual cycle was more appropriate. However, due to the limitations of the quality of studies, application of the results should be cautious.
