Abstract：Health education was of great significance for self care ability of peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICC)patients,therefore,the authors reviewed the PICC catheter related complications (catheter ectopic,phlebitis,venous thrombosis,infection),self care needs and status quo of self care ability and a varie-ty of health education model and health education styles;thought that a variety of health education models and methods had their advantages and disadvantages aiming at PICC catheter patients.A variety of health education models and approaches should be mutually reinforcing and the integrated use,but the scenario simulation ap-proach had more advantages.
